Hi there! I'm Max. I like all things software, both technical and non-technical.
I may get excited about low-level network protocol debugging,
but I also enjoy the high-level product and management side of things.
Within all of that, I have some weak spots for security, teaching, and open source.

- 2024-05-01:
Gaurav Jain and Matteo Luppi will be my Google Summer of Code
students this summer. Gaurav will be working on low-level Python and Rust bits starting with DNS,
and Matteo will work on mitmweb's traffic capture configuration.
- 2024-03-08: As in previous years, I'm looking for Google
Summer of Code Students for mitmproxy!
- 2024-01-08: I'm now working as a Security Engineer at Google, focusing on Cloud Product Security. 🎉

Emanuele, my second GSoC student, had a successful summer as well.
mitmproxy now has a macOS system extension!

First Google Summer of Code results are in:
Nathaniel has successfully implemented
support for HAR files.
- 2023-06-28:
NLnet accepted my grant application and will be sponsoring the development of HTTP/3
and OS proxy modes for mitmproxy.
- 2023-05-04:
Emanuele Micheletti and Nathaniel Good will be my Google Summer of Code
students this summer. Emanuele will be working on mitmproxy's macOS traffic interception, and
Nathaniel will kick off things with HAR file support.
- 2023-03-01: I've been appointed to serve on the Honeynet
Project's Board of Directors.
- 2023-02-22: As in previous years, I'm looking for Google
Summer of Code Students for mitmproxy!
- 2023-01-01: I started working as a Staff Engineer at AppCensus.

I will continue to teach at University of Innsbruck for the winter term.
